Anatomy Education Podcast

May 7, 2018

Dr Rod Green is an Associate Professor in Human Anatomy at the College of Science, Health and Engineering, La Trobe Universityin Australia.

Rod joins me for a really interesting chat about all things blended learning and how this type of curricula can support student engagement. We talk about the use of synchronous discussion boards in gross anatomy teaching and how to make the right ‘blend’. Rod is currently serving as President of ANZACA and we discuss some of the current work underway within the association.

You can follow ANZACA on Twitter using the Twitter handle: @ANZACA_Inc

Here are the links to some of the paper we discussed:

The relationship between student engagement with online content and achievement in a blended learning anatomy course.

Impact of introduction of blended learning in gross anatomy on student outcomes.

Do collaborative practical tests encourage student-centered active learning of gross anatomy?

Participation in asynchronous online discussion forums does improve student learning of gross anatomy.

Student outcomes associated with use of asynchronous online discussion forums in gross anatomy teaching.
